Year 5- How We Express Ourselves
In this unit, students in Year 5 inquired into cultural, festival and celebration. In PE class, students explored many kinds of traditional games that are influenced by the culture.
Central Idea
Our cultural heritage influences our individual forms of expression.
Lines of Inquiry
Students explored traditional games played by children around the world. They also observed the similarities and differences between the games that they played. They found that cultures and languages were two factors that influence the traditional games from each country.
At the end of unit, students did a project creating a simple game that could be played with other students at school or other places. They had to present it, these games to their peers. Below are picture of students creating and presenting their simple games.
